Scapula (pl. scapulae)

Important Posterior Features:

Spine: Large ridge that juts out posteriorly

Infraspinous Fossa: Depressed area inferior to the spine

Supraspinous Fossa: Depressed area superior to the spine

Borders and angles are named directionally (inferior, lateral, etc.)

Important Anterior Features:

Coracoid Process: Process that juts out of the anterior side of the scapula

Subscapular Fossa: Depression inferior to the Coracoid Process

Acromion: Process that extends laterally and superior from the Scapula

Glenoid Fossa: Depression that interfaces with the Humerus as part of the ball and socket joint. Has infra and supra glenoid tubercles
